Your Gen Z Market Predictions 2025 (PART 1)
Welcome back to GenZtea's Newsletter, where I break down trends, industries, and tech with a Gen Z lens.
Welcome back to GenZtea's Newsletter, where I break down trends, industries, and tech with a Gen Z lens. I'm Natalie Neptune and I'm so happy you're here.
I was recently featured in a podcast episode discussing Gen Z perspectives on personal brands + a personal branding course – more on that later!
But first, let's dive into this newsletter's theme... 2025 Market Predictions Through a Gen Z Lens!
As we approach the new year, companies of all sizes are analyzing data and releasing their forecasts for 2025. I've been closely following these predictions, particularly because they align with what we're seeing in the Gen Z market. Some noteworthy reports I've been studying:
Hootsuite's Social Media Trends 2025 Report - A comprehensive analysis of where social media is headed, with fascinating insights about emerging platforms and user behavior
Y Combinator's Winter 2025 "Request for Startups" - Their latest edition reveals which industries are prime for disruption
Greg Isenberg's Market Predictions - The GOAT himself shared some incredible hot takes

As someone who's built thriving communities, become a LinkedIn thought leader, and was named a Top LinkedIn Voice for Next Gen, I've developed a keen eye for spotting trends before they explode. That's why I've created this master list of market predictions from top thought leaders (as of December 16th) – consider this your one-stop resource for understanding what's next.
Let's break down:
The biggest predicted shifts - analyzing patterns across various industry reports and what they mean for Gen Z
Hidden opportunities - uncovering the gaps that aren't being discussed in mainstream predictions
Now... let's dive deep into these predictions! ⬇️
The Economic Landscape of 2025 + Gen Z's Impact
The Economic Landscape The story of economics in 2025 isn't just about numbers and markets... it's about a fundamental shift in how value is created and who creates it. We're in what Vanguard calls the era of "sound money," where interest rates sit above inflation for the first time in years.
But here's what makes this moment truly special:
Gen Z is transforming traditional market dynamics. By 2025, we'll make up 40% of luxury consumers, and 75% of us primarily use mobile devices for transactions. This isn't just a demographic shift – it's a complete reimagining of how business works.
The current wave of 17-25-year-old founders are literally running laps around traditional industries. Why? Because we're digitally native, we have a faster learning curve, and we have unprecedented access to the open internet to build almost anything.
And just like my usual recommendations, here are a few things I'm watching closely:
Tech: The rise of mobile-first financial platforms designed specifically for Gen Z Culture: Luxury brands scrambling to understand our generation's spending habits
P.S. Remember when everyone said Gen Z wouldn't invest in traditional markets? Well, look at us now! 🚀
Future of Commerce
Let's talk about how shopping is about to transform in ways that feel straight out of a sci-fi movie (but it's happening faster than you think).
AI personal shoppers are becoming our new best friends, learning our style across every store we shop at. But it goes beyond just product recommendations – these AI assistants are creating personalized shopping experiences we've never seen before.

This app blew up that focuses on the trend of B2C apps for friends, not influencers
The "buy now, receive later" model is revolutionizing how we think about shopping. Imagine buying holiday gifts in July and getting rewards that grow until December. It's like giving yourself an unexpected birthday present!
Brands that understand this are thriving. Look at Trader Joe's – they barely do traditional marketing, yet they have one of the strongest Gen Z followings. Why? Because they prioritize community over discounts. The same goes for brands turning their loyal customers into co-creators instead of relying on mega influencers.
Even packaging is getting a makeover. Boring boxes are so 2023 – the unboxing experience is becoming as important as the product itself.

My mom literally orders this: eco-friendly + donates
And if you want to see where online shopping is headed, check out platforms like Organimo that are turning e-commerce into an immersive 3D experience.

The Evolution of B2B Content: Breaking Down HubSpot's Winning Formula
Let's talk about how B2B content is getting a complete makeover. I've been studying HubSpot's approach, and they're crushing it by breaking all the traditional rules.
They've cracked the code on authentic communication – speaking their audience's language, using slang, and riding trends like they're talking to a friend. But it goes deeper than that. They understand that strong communities are built on shared interests, not product features.
Here's where it gets interesting: the rise of the employee influencer. HubSpot's leadership team is building personal brands everywhere – their CTO on podcasts, their CMO hosting shows, their CEO with 100k+ LinkedIn followers. Looking ahead, we'll see more companies hiring in-house influencers to humanize their brand through vlogs, Q&As, and authentic product launches.

Deloitte hired their 1st full-time influencer Lara Sophie Bothur
Their content strategy hits the sweet spot: educational enough to provide value, but entertaining enough to keep you engaged. Each platform gets its own tailored content, with coordinated resource launches every few weeks. Most importantly? They've ditched the preachy corporate tone completely.
This isn't just a trend – it's the future of B2B content. The winners won't just have followers; they'll build lasting communities.
Banking in 2025: The Return to Human Connection
Let's talk about a fascinating shift happening in banking – one that might surprise you. While everything's going digital, banks are actually creating something unexpected: the new era of banking lounges. And it's not what you might think.
![](https://media.beehiiv.com/cdn-cgi/image/fit=scale-down,format=auto,onerror=redirect,quality=80/uploads/asset/file/81365016-bdda-4dc9-9430-3ab1f475073d/Screenshot_2024-12-20_at_7.55.29_AM.png?t=1734699341)
Weary travelers and constantly working entrepreneurs stake out prime spots in the bank away from the airport hub
Picture this: instead of sterile offices with bulletproof glass, imagine spaces that feel more like your favorite coffee shop or an Apple Store. These aren't just banks; they're community hubs with open meeting spaces, educational seminars, and yes, even freshly brewed coffee. Why? Because as online scams surge, certain moments in life still demand face-to-face interaction.

Here's what makes this interesting: banks are under intense regulatory pressure to protect customers from fraud, especially during those big life moments. And while Gen Z might not be buying homes en masse just yet, there's a massive transfer of wealth happening that needs a safe space to be managed (and Gen Z loves to travel).

This isn't just banks playing catch-up – it's a complete reimagining of what banking looks like in a digital age where trust and human connection matter more than ever.
AI in 2025: The Reality Check We Need
Let's talk about AI's true timeline, because there's a fascinating disconnect between the hype and reality. While everyone's buzzing about overnight revolution, history tells us a different story.
Here's what we're really seeing:
The Implementation Gap - Even major companies with massive resources need years, sometimes decades, to turn new technology into profitable applications. We're still in early stages of figuring out how to integrate AI meaningfully.
The Labor Shift - About 30% of current work hours in developed economies involve tasks that AI will handle in the next 20 years. But here's the key: this won't cause mass unemployment – instead, we'll see a gradual reallocation of human talent to less AI-sensitive tasks.
The Personalization Wave - The next generation of AI is pivoting toward individualization. Think less generic chatbot, more hyper-personalized experiences like Spotify Wrapped on steroids.
we aren't legally allowed to call it "wrapped" so uh…

Gen Z is driving this shift, demanding technology that truly understands individual needs.
Yet there's a reality check: even tech-savvy users (including Team Redpoint!) still stick with traditional search engines over AI alternatives. It's a reminder that adoption isn't just about better technology – it's about creating tools that fit seamlessly into how people actually work and live.
The AI revolution is coming, but 2025 won't be its breakout year. Real transformation takes time, and that's not a bad thing.
The AI Agent Revolution: How 2025's Startups Will Run on Autopilot
The AI Agent Transformation This isn't future talk... it's happening right now, quietly behind the scenes. Founders are already printing money with AI agents, but they're not tweeting about it (smart move, honestly 😉).
Picture this: Your acquisition agent is running 50 meme accounts simultaneously, testing hooks across different niches, generating 1,000 posts daily until it finds what hits. Your research agent is analyzing 100,000 tweets per hour, spotting opportunities nobody else sees.
RIZZ App's faceless b-roll texting TikTok video marketing MADNESS.
550,000,000 views across 15+ TikTok accounts.
With an average of 450K views per video....all from faceless texting over Minecraft b-roll.
Even I feel bad revealing this:

The math is what makes this truly wild: What previously required 20 people and $2M in salary now happens automatically with $2K in agent costs. Customer acquisition becomes predictable, growth becomes systematic, and a single founder becomes as powerful as a funded startup.
For consumers, these agents are becoming personal negotiators, haggling with dozens of stores to find the best deals. It's like having a team of expert shoppers working for you 24/7.
And as usual, here are a few things I'm keeping an eye on:
📈 Culture: The shift from human VA's to AI agents (my DMs are full of founders asking about this)
Welcome to the future of startups. It's already here, it's running 24/7, and it's just getting started.
Waitt, is that all? No part 2 will be coming out shortly (so you all can digest this 1st).
Look forward to future of work, creator, healthcare, consumer, and more 😏

ARE YOU A GEN Z FOUNDER WHO...
→ Knows LinkedIn is crucial for fundraising but feels stuck posting "corporate cringe" → Watches other founders close deals through LinkedIn while you're still figuring it out → Has a profile that doesn't match your actual potential
YOU'RE HELD BACK BY: → Imposter syndrome (especially being young) → No proven playbook → Fear of looking unprofessional → Not knowing what actually works
While LinkedIn has over 950M+ users, only 1% of users create content regularly - that's the opportunity gap for founders who want to stand out
